Activities of AMHA

As vocational training AMHA train them to make disposable glasses, paper covers, writing chalk, agar bathi, phenoil, detergent powder, bathing soap Coir mats, Juices etc. We train them in music, drawing and painting.

Psychiatrists take classes for the parents about the management of their mentally challenged children. We conduct painting and drawing competition for the mentally challenged children of Thrissur district.

We conducted an exhibition of drawings and paintings of our students at Sahithya Acadamy hall, Thrissur and Sree Kerala Varma College, Thrissur respectively.
AS FAR AS OUR KNOWLEDGE IS CONCERNED THIS IS A NOVEL ATTEMPT OF THIS KIND, AT LEAST IN KERALA.

Make and sell Greeting cards with the drawings and paintings of our students.

Students from various institutions and MSW students used to come to our institution as a part of their project work and field study.


Nursing students from Nursing colleges of the District visits and interacts with our students as part of their curriculum.

We celebrate Onam, Christmas and Independence Day with invited guests from various sectors of the society, which will help the students to interact with such persons and will help to boost their self esteem

Every year we observe the Day of the Mentally Challenged (Dec 8th) with various programmes. Psychiatrists take classes for parents and care givers of mentally challenged persons from various institutions of Thrissur District.

For the first time in history (as per our knowledge, at least in kerala) on Dec 8th 2010, 2011 and 2012 we staged dramas “AMMAKILY”, “ORIDATHORU POONTHOTTAM” and “THATHA”, enacted exclusively by mentally challenged persons.
